Samba wheat (Broken Wheat)Rava Idly A diet healthy food

Samba wheat is said to be a broken wheat as it has many medicinal benefits we can have it in our regular diet.



It helps in


  • weight loss ,
  • strengthen cardio vascular system of our body,
  • Controls sugar level of our body so even diabetics can regularly intake it 
  • Helps for good digestion as its rich in high fibre content
  • Obesity issues can be resolved easily 
  • its rich in iron and calcium to build body strength



Ingredients:


For Mixing

  • Roasted Samba wheat Rava - 3 cup
  • Thick curd - 1 cup
  • Water - 1 and 1/2 cup
  • 1 or two sachet of Eno salt instead of soda salt
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • Salt as you need 

 For seasoning

  • Mustard,
  • Urad dhal
  • Channa dhal
  • Ginger
  • Green chilly
  • Chopped Carrot,beans,soft Green peas put in hot water for 5 mins
  • You can add groundnuts and cashewnuts too 



Procedure:

Mix everything together and make it as like normal idly batter  not more watery and not more thick

Season it with:

Mustard seeds, Urad dal, chana dal, curry leaves, grated ginger, chopped green chillies and the veggies.

Add it to the batter and make idlis.

Allow the batter to set for 20 mins atleast so in this mean time pre-heat idly vessel filled with water close the lid and grease the idly plate or wet the idly cloths to be ready

Prepare coconut chutney ready when the batter setting if sambar is also there it will be a best companion for it

Now its ready pour the idly batter on the idly plate allow it to cook for 10 to 15 minutes 

In order to check whether the idly cooked just insert a toothstick or a  spoon back side stick into idly if the idly cooked the stick will come freely otherwise the uncooked batter will attach on the tooth stick or in spoon.

If its not cooked well means just allow it to cook for another 5 mins and check again

So finally your healthy Samba wheat Rava idly will be ready


If your giving for kids grease with ghee during serving them so they get more power by this or sprinkle cheese over it or grated coconut with jaggery for the kids decorate and give surely they will eat never reject it

As its a  broken wheat idly it is oil free anyone can have it

Crispy Vaalai Poo Vadai(Traditional Dish)

Vaalai Poo which is banana flower has more health and medicinal benefits but no one likes the taste as it has astringent little bitterness.We can prepare  Vaalai poo as Vadai or Vaalaipoo cabbage kootu so no one skips it and everyone will ready to taste it.The concept of eating healthy foods in a tasty way everyone expecting this as a theme.





Here we go into the recipe which is very easy and simple to prepare.its a traditional dish of tamilnadu as well as .....





For Grinding

Channa Dhaal(Kadalai Paruppu)-2 to 3 cup(300 -450 gram atleast)
Chopped Vaalaipoo - 1 cup (50 -80 flowers atleast)
Green chilly select spicy brand because some wont be spicy-3-5
Garlic - 3-6
Salt as required i prefer kal uppu if u know the quantity use it or use powdered salt

During grinding add little salt too much salt wont be good affects the taste


For Mixing

Chopped onion 3 medium size or small onion means 10-15 atleast
Chopped green chilly 2-4
finely Chopped curry leaves (10-15) atleast
Fennel seeds (sombu)-2 -3 teaspoon as this gives good flavor for dhaal vadai

Recipe is very simple the concept basic is dont grind too much as messy paste or dont grind too much dry





Procedure here we go

Wash and soak the Channa dhaal for 45mins to more than 1 hour atleast

Grind the ingredients as i mentioned above for grinding in a mixie or wet grinder or in ural or in processor

Grind coarsely dont add more water just sprinkle it or add with a teaspoon if required too much water spoil the flavor.

First take a half part of dhaal ,vaalaipoo,few green chilly and garlic with little grind as paste

Then again remaining half take the dhaal,Vaalai poo,green chilly,garlic and salt.Grind coarsely thats not messy one

In this meantime pre heat the oil in a kadaai

keep little dhaal aside for mixing process

When grinding over we will start to mix.Transfer to a mixing bowl add fennel seeds,onion,chilly,curry leaves and coriander is optional





Check for the salt after mixing.Take a spoon and pick the vada batter  with the help of spoon and lightly press the vada so it forms a circle.



Oil got preheated keep in medium flame and start to deep fry the vaada it will come crispy,crunchy dark brown color and yummy in taste

Note

 Be careful in adding salt
Dont over heat the kadaai so vada may over burn and the flavor may lost,

Masala French Fries

Normal french fries seems to be boring so we want a spicy crunchy snacks we can have a try this recipe which is simple one anyone can try this easily as all is available in kitchen




  • Chop the potato into french fries shape
  • Add salt as required
  • Corn flour 1 teaspoon
  • Gram flour 2 tea spoon
  • Maida all purpose flour 2 teaspoon


Masala powders


  • Chilli powder 1 to 2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder a pinch
  • Chicken 65 powder 2 teaspoon


Take a bowl add the flour one by one like this



Then masala powder one by one and salt


wash the french fries in cold water and squeeze the water it can have little water in it no issues



Now mix it as dry dont add water when u start to mix wear gloves if your hands may get irritate by masala


When the masala mixed on potato it may stick on our hands so lightly sprinke a teaspoon of water thats enough and spread masala well.
if you think masala and flavor mild add a teaspoon of maida and chilli powder again


In this mean time pre heat the oil  on kadaai and when its ready keep in low flame and deep fry it as its french fries it has to be taken correctly if you make to deep fry for more minutes so it will be converted as potato chips


Fry it well and dont over cook for french fries

so your tasty spicy french fries ready




you can try the same with a bajji mix and manchurian mix together along with fennel seeds ,chopped curry leaves so it taste different too so it will look like this i wont add maida to this just two mix only i mixed with little gram flour

Mixed Fruity Oats

Mixed fruity Oats


Normal way of eating Oats in our diet is boring so we can have oats in a healthy way so you don't need special ingredients for it.The concept of eating is for weight loss so you can have along with fruits each and everyday by anyone different fruits or any three fruits combination.Mixed Fruits will be more tasty.I just had given an idea so imagination is on yours

SO here we go into the recipe

Ingredients will be very simple

Oats 1 cup
Milk 1/2 glass or 1/2 cup
1 glass of water add if water required
Pepper powder
salt a pinch in enough(optional)
sugar a pinch (optional)
Honey for final touch 1 or 2 teaspoon
Fruits you can have anyone or mixed as i said early

Fruits Chopped :

Apple,
pineapple,
brown or green grapes,
pomogranate,
banana,
strawberry
Blackberry
Rasperry
mango

So take anyone or any two or three fruits just chop it

Note : you can add Chopped Olives too in it.


Procedure:

Preparation is we do normal way of oats concept.take a pan pour milk and water as we are concern with diet i had added only small amount of milk and more water to it

after pouring milk ,water add oats allow it to cook well when it becomes thick add a pinch of sugar,salt

Off the stove allow it to cool down lightly

Now add the fruits ,pepper powder or dry coarse pepper and honey during serving

So now its ready to have u may love to have in this combination of fruits with it.

A simple and time saving recipe you can have a try

Whenever you have Oats you can have juice or buttermilk or more water along with it because oats basically produce more heat

















Spicy Mixed Vada Curry (vada Kari)

Last week tried Vada curry .its a easy recipe like normal way of presenting.The recipe is simple one anyone can prepare it.if guest arrived or during festivals we prepare or buy vada,bajji or bonda.so it will be more left over in house.Bore to eat again in a normal way.so we can have as evening snack or side dish for roti,parota,dosa or idly.



Ingredients:

Left over bajji,bonda,channa dhaal vada,keera vada chop squeeze like the image shown
Green chilly  chopped as half 3 to 4
Tomato medium size 4 to 5
Mint leaves half cup(5-6 sticks)
Coriander leaves half cup(5-6 sticks)
Coconut paste half cup
Garlic 4(optional)
Curry leaves 2 small sticks that is 10 to 12 leaves atleast chop it into small so it release good flavor


For seasoning:

Cashew nut 1 teaspoon
Anise seed 1 or 2
Fennel seed 1teaspoon
Biryani leaf(optional)
Kalpachi for flavor
Yelakaai broken 1
Cinnamon sticks 3
mentioned items i missed in snaps anyway add all for flavor


MasalaPowder:

Turmeric powder 2pinch
Chilly powder 2 teaspoon
Sambar powder 1teaspoon
Karimasala(Mutton masala powder give more flavor)or normal karimasal powder 2 teaspoon



Procedure

Take a plate and keep the vadas,bajji ready like this



Take a kadaai add 1 teaspoon ghee two teaspoon of oil then add cashewnut to cinammon sticks in the seasoning list one by one in order.


When it lightly warm add mint leaves and green chilly saute well for 30 seconds and then add onion,garlic to it.







Then add turmeric powder and a pinch of salt mix well in onion

After 20seconds add tomato and all other powders that i mentioned and spicyness is upto your level


When tomato raw smell vanished and it was sauted well along with masala powders ,curry leaves half part  then add water to your gravy stage or kulambu stage and mix the finely grinded soft coconut paste and required salt to it







Mix and stirrer well as my first kadaai not sufficient i transfered to big non stick kadaai so you better take a big kadaai for this because we add bajji ,vada so we need some space for mixing


Check the salt,spicyness and tanginess when it started to bubble add the vadas,bajjis,bondas,keerai vadas to it





Boil for 1 or 2 mins .So your yummy spicy Vada curry ready to serve just garnish with Curry leaves and Coriander leaves







Satthumaavu karupatti paniyaaram

This week tried karupatti paniyaram an instant easy recipe .adults or kids who  are very weak and having low stamina surely have a try first. In our family after having karupatti paniyaram we felt we were not easily getting tired and having more stamina.so let we get start to recipe now.if u like my recipe don't forget to feedback me.how it came for you and add as follower in my page.

 Ingredients :

 Dosa batter or paniyaram batter 1 cup
Satthumaavu powder 2 cup
Karupatti according to ur sweetmess
Grated coconut and broken cashewnuts,cardamom(Yelakaai) powder(optional)
Ghee or gingelly oil
Rava 1 teaspoon little bit is enough
add small size karupatti like chocolate chips to this batter it melt and gives some taste effects

Ghee gives good favor for this paniyaaram


Take a vessel add sathumaavu powder ,rava and karupatti.mix well dry.

Now add dosa batter to it along with a pinch of salt.beat and mix well

You can prepare instantly or wait for 5mins to make the batter set

In this meantime take paniyaram pan pre heat with oil or ghee andspread the ghee or oil on the paniyaram hole well as karuppatti sticks more u have spread ghee or oil well and little bit more

when its lightly pre heated started to pour the batter.start from corner holes and finish to center holes because center holes cook fast so start from outer to inner then all cook on even timings.

When one side cooked partially and just reverse using a paniyaaram pin or wide spoon and allow it to cook then your healthy tasty sathumaavu paniyaaram ready,

When u try for the first time try with low quantity and check everyone eating then follow high quantity amount


Note karupatti,satthumaavu and ghee all gives more strength this is our old parents strength .i feel good stamina after eating this.Mainly for ladies puberty time it gives more withstanding power and for kids it build body power.
