The recipe here as follows
Ingredients:
Chopped White Pumpkin- 1 cup
Chopped Onion 1 cup(small onion is best)
if you dont have small onion use medium size or big onion
For seasoning:
Oil
mustard 1 teaspoon
urad daal 1 teaspoon
Salt
Turmeric powder
Cooking in cooker :
Toor Daal- 1 (1/2) cup
Asafoetida- 1 teaspoon
Pressure cook this above 3-5 whistels in a cooker
For Grinding
Coconut- 3-5 small pieces
Garlic-3
Green chilly-2
Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
Grind everything together and keep aside
Procedure
Chop white pumpkin into small pieces as it is kootu
Now take blender and blend cooked daal for 10-20 seconds.Dont blend too much.Anyway
Daal has to be cooked well.
Take a kadai add oil ,mustard and urad daal when it splittered in oil add Onions with a pinch of salt.
Saute well till onion change to transparent.In this stage add white pumpkin ,salt and turmeric power
Keep in medium flame mix and saute well for 1 -2 minutes.
Then add this white poosani mixture to daal prepared cooker along with daal.Add required for salt lightly because i already added salt for white pumpkin.
Add coconut based grinded paste we already prepared and add curry leaves.
Pressure cook for 2 whistles.
When steam or cooker whistle calm down .Then your tasty healthy white pumpkin hotel taste daal ready to serve.
